Why do you make some purchases online and others in-store? What ultimately prompts you to go in-store?

Shopping.

Some people absolutely love it.

I'm not one of those people.

I shop out of necessity, not out of pleasure.

If I can get it online, I do.

My idea of a great shopping day: Get what you need quickly and get out quickly.

My idea of a good shopping day is no one else in the store except the checker. I like to consider the value of my purchases without other people around me.

I'm not much into shopping either, although if you throw in some Chinese food at the food court, I'm game.

You have a valid point. Chinese food will draw me to a mall.

I love to shop, but mostly I love to do it at my leisure, and not from necessity. Food shopping is my least favorite, but I love the thrill of a bargain! I hit Shaw's early in the morning, and check out the mark downs! A bag of red peppers that have funny shapes, so they're $1.83 a pound? MINE!

I love 'quirky' places, like Building 19, which has merchandise from insurance companies. A typical example? A warehouse had a fire, the sprinklers got all the boxes wet, the plastic inside protected the sweaters, but the big stores don't want anything to do with them, so I get a fancy golf sweater for my SIL at a third of what his country club pro shop would ask!

I love the Christmas Tree Shop, which has 'decorator' type items for great prices! My daughter and I found beautiful tapestry and embroidered placemats. We'll use dowels and ribbon to make them into wall hangings for gifts. We also got fancy jellies, crackers, and soup mixes very inexpensively.

My other favorite shopping is thrift stores. I get great stuff for great prices! My son found a perfect black leather jacket for $32. My daughter and I each got a wool coat for Winter for $18 each. Jeans for $15, sweatshirts for $7, even furniture and appliances when we helped my daughter get settled here in Mass.
