rolemodel
Being a mother of 5 daughters (and now a sixth daughter since my niece moved in), I can most definitely look to the mom on Pride & Prejudice (who also had five daughters). She is, at times, the perfect role model of "what not to be".

When I want to amuse my daughters, I quote her.

"Have you no consideration for my poor nerves?" - Mrs. Bennet, "Pride and Prejudice"

I am not sure if it is the BBC version, Keira Knightley acts in the one we have.

And I love Mr Bennet's response, to the effect that he does indeed consider her nerves because he's lived with them every day for years.

Mr. Bennet had the best all time answers ever!

Yes, I like it when he tells his daughter, regarding accepting the parson's proposal, "You'll break your mother's heart if you don't," and when she looks so desperate, "and you'll break mine if you do."

I've only seen the K Knightley/M MacFadyen/D Sutherland version of that. I'd like to see any others, but the Bronte books rather put me off. All that Victorian verbosity!

You are going to have to get the BBC version and watch it with your wife and daughter. I must warn you, though. It's about 10 hours long (or more)...

I think I put it in our Netflix queue, a day or two ago.
