What's worse: a pit of snakes or a pit of spiders?
I do not like snakes. I repeat. I do not like snakes. Today, I opened my garage door, and lo and behold, there was a green snake greeting me. Probably perfectly harmless, but still a snake. I slowly backed up my garage deck steps and tried to startle him away by tossing the nearest thing I could find. Shoes. Lots of shoes. The snake wouldn’t budge. My son stood by watching and critiquing my every throw. With each toss he uttered one word… “Fail…Fail…Fail…Fail…Fail…” I finally had to get a long handled broom and shoo him away because none of the other shoes worked. Did I mention I don’t like snakes? snakewontmove

I think I'd rather see a snake than a spider. I HATE SPIDERS. They scare the h*ll out of me!!!!

Funny how things like snakes and spiders can evoke such a strong emotion in us!

Looks like a grass or garter snake - not that I am an expert.

I looked it up after I shooed it away. Harmless snake that eats spiders. I'd rather have the spiders!

You should import some snake eating spiders from Australia. They'll take care of your snake problems. :)

Australia has some scary things. I wouldn't want to import any animal/insect from there! Except maybe a kangaroo or two.

America: The land of opportunity.
Australia: The land of things that want to kill you.

This must be one of the funniest posts I've seen! That picture is priceless and I love Ryan's commentary. "Fail". Haha!

One time Ruth and I found a huge spider right by the door to the garage, but it was inside. We freaked out and told Ryan to catch it and put it outside. He started crying, so that didn't work. Ruth and I ended up arguing about what to do. I said to kill it with a shoe, but she wanted to save its life. Eventually we decided that she would catch it and put it outside, but unfortunately it moved and scared Ruth half to death so she threw a shoe at it. He didn't make it.

You and Ruth always loved to make Ryan cry!
