Alas, our 1999 totaled vehicle is being hauled away today. That thing was sure and dependable.
But, not nearly as sure and dependable as God, our provider.

I wait upon Him alone to remedy our car situation.

In the meantime, we drive one vehicle with a crunched in hood and grill (compliments of a deer crossing the road), another vehicle with a dented and cracked back bumper (compliments of a driver that didn’t stop in time), and a 1994 Suburban with a broken driver door that I have to roll the window down in order to shut.

We’re lookin’ pretty rough these days…

Jehovah Jireh, my Provider His grace is sufficient for me, for me, for me
Jehovah Jireh, my Provider His grace is sufficient for me
My God shall supply all my needs According to His riches in glory
He will give His angels charge over me
Jehovah Jireh cares for me, for me, for me
Jehovah Jireh cares for me

I remember a BIG TRIP of my childhood (I was a young teen) was to NY city to see my brother off to England on a Fulbright scholarship. We had recently got a gorgeous 'nearly new' car, a Chevy with the 'wings' at the back. Just a day or so before the trip, a driver hit the front passenger door and made it so it could not open. There was no time to get it repaired. My poor Mom was embarassed to tears when we pulled up at the hotel in NY and the doorman came out to open her door, and instead she had to slide out under the steering wheel, into the street!!

Hope your car troubles are solved soon!! "The Lord provides."

I can so relate to what your mom must have felt! When I drove the totaled car home, I wondered what I must have looked like! I've seen people drive banged up cars...but this beat all.

The policeman who responsed at the scene gave me his card and told me to call if I broke down on the way home and he would call a tow truck.

That was nice of him! A little 'peace of mind'!

I think this would be an appropriate time to also give a shout out to the purple Vanagon with the duct taped window.

HaHaHaHa! We've definitely had our share of car dificulties through the years!

I had to sit on the duct taped side. I had no window to stare out of.

Did Rebecca make you sit there or did I?

I'm so sad. I drove that car to PA, and enjoyed it. It's kind of like losing a friend.

I know!

Also, I believe that dented and cracked back bumper (if you're talking about my car) is a compliment of Rebecca. If I remember correctly, she backed into something. And then I backed into the suburban. And then dad purposely bumped into me for revenge. So I think that car is our fault.
