Writer's Block: Dinner's on me

If you had to serve a meal to an ambassador from another country that symbolized your country's culture, what would you choose? Do you think s/he would love it as much as you do?

First of all, I’m going to ask In-N-Out Burger to come set up their little stand and cook hamburgers and fries for us. (They do that, you know. My niece had them cook burgers at her wedding reception.)

Then, after dinner, we’re going to walk the ambassador next door to Starbucks (because it doesn’t matter where we are in America, I’m pretty sure there’s a Starbuck’s next door.)

And, last of all, I’m going to ask Mrs. Smith to drop by with a few of her apple pies.

We all know, there's nothing as American as apple pie.

♫ And I’m proud to be an American where as least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A. - Lee Greenwald

My youngest daughter that just married had a caterer do Vegan because her wedding party and many of their guests were vegetarian or vegan. She didn't want a wedding cake, so she had a pyramid of individual boxed pies from a local farm which specializes in fruit. They were the most delicious pies I have ever tasted!!

What a great idea!! So, maybe we could ask them to do the pies for the ambassador's dinner, instead!

Oh, In-N-Out! I love eating there when I'm on the West Coast. Speaking of, I had a dream the other night that I was preparing to move to California.
